Logistics Manager, STUTTGART
An international manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to lead and continuously improve end-to-end logistics operations at a major production facility in the Greater Stuttgart Area.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a logistics leader with a strong manufacturing background who enjoys combining strategic planning with hands-on operational leadership.
You will be responsible for the overall logistics function, ensuring efficient material flow from suppliers through production to customer delivery, while driving operational excellence across warehousing, transportation, inventory management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Leadership
Lead and develop the site's Logistics function.
Manage, coach and develop warehouse, logistics and transportation teams.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Drive organisational development and operational excellence.
Build strong cross-functional relationships with Production, Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning, Customer Service and Finance.
End-to-End Logistics Operations
Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations.
Ensure uninterrupted material availability to support manufacturing.
Guarantee on-time customer deliveries.
Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory and dispatch.
Optimise material flow throughout the manufacturing facility.
Coordinate transportation planning and shipping activities.
Continuously improve logistics efficiency and service performance.
Transportation & Distribution
Manage transportation providers and third-party logistics partners.
Optimise transportation and warehousing costs.
Ensure compliance with transportation legislation and customs requirements.
Monitor logistics provider performance and implement improvement actions.
Inventory Management
Optimise inventory levels while maintaining target service levels.
Improve inventory accuracy and warehouse utilisation.
Coordinate annual and cycle stock counts.
Drive inventory reduction initiatives and improve inventory turns.
Continuous Improvement
Lead Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Improve warehouse performance, transportation efficiency and material flow.
Support ERP optimisation and logistics process improvements.
Participate in business transformation projects.
Performance Management
Manage and improve logistics performance through KPIs, including:
OTIF
Inventory Accuracy
Inventory Turns
Warehouse Productivity
Logistics Costs
Freight Costs
Transport Performance
Picking Accuracy
Stock Availability
Supplier Delivery Performance
Compliance
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.
Maintain adherence to customs, transportation and internal operational policies.
Ensure logistics processes comply with quality and corporate standards.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
Significant experience leading logistics operations within a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience managing warehousing, transportation and end-to-end material flow.
Previous people management experience with responsibility for operational teams.
Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse operations and manufacturing logistics.
Experience working with ERP systems (SAP is highly desirable).
Fluent German (minimum B2 level) and fluent English (minimum B2 level), both written and spoken.
Availability to work 100% on-site in the Greater Stuttgart Area.
Desirable Experience
