Experience


  • At least 8 years of experience in managing products in an Agile environment.

  • Have proven success in people management, within the product manager domain

  • Be able to effectively manage talented and opinionated product managers

  • Experience in hiring/ developing other Product Managers

  • Carried out many ideas from concept to implementation, through the standard software lifecycle, and achieved measurable success within defined KPIs or OKRs

  • Good domain expertise in the relevant functional area/ a large complex domain: such as enterprise architecture, APIs, and backend. Authentication/ IAM exposure is desirable.

  • Efficient in stakeholder management and can steer the team in the right direction by putting the best team members in the most value-generating Products/ Business priorities

  • Knowledge and experience of product management best practices and methodologies; coupled with a strong technical acumen.

  • Technically competent to influence and understand the solution context and approach; and aid engineering in estimating the complexity of work being requested.

  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, constantly evolving business and tech environment.

  • Able to prioritize and trade-off effectively.

  • Can hold objective conversations with your technology counterparts to prioritize it during any sprint;

  • Have great prioritization and decision-making skills and have made good decisions/judgments around business priorities and resource allocation, etc

  • Desirable: Knowledge and experience of the paradigms and trade-offs surrounding software architectures and technical design choices.

Job Description


The Identity Product Team is part of Tesco’s Core APIs, Data, and Enterprise Tools organisation.  A group of Product Manager experts dedicated to developing the enterprise and data services used throughout Tesco, to enable all of our transaction experiences. And the customer and business outcomes and key results that they enable. The ‘authentication front door’ in Tesco’s retail platform, in stores and online, on apps, and in service-to-service authentications.


As a Senior Product Manager for Identity, you will be technically minded and work with development teams for customer-related identity and authentication, for all customers' in-store physical and digital experiences, globally. Building, running, and motivating a talented product team to deliver on your strategy, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and deliver the right outcomes in this domain.  You will get involved in technical discussions with your developers on protecting your customer details. You will ensure Tesco is ahead of the curve for security and customer data standards and regulations while developing the API platform it needs to delight customers and colleagues alike. Working alongside your engineering counterparts, you will prioritize across your domain, resolving resource conflicts, and always putting the customer first.
