RedHat System Administrator, BYDGOSZCZ

For our customer, leader in IT consulting we are seeking a skilled RedHat System Administrator to join our team and take charge of our Signalling Control System. This system comprises several subsystems of varying ages and code bases.

Project information:

• Location: 100% remotely


• Type of employment: contract of employment or B2B contract

You will be responsible for:

• Manage and maintain our Signalling Control System, which includes multiple subsystems.


• Address issues related to the migration of subsystems from a 32-bit operating system (Linux distribution known as Arch) to RedHat 9.


• Collaborate with hardware suppliers to ensure compatibility with the latest Intel chipsets.


• Ensure the 24/7 availability of the system with a target uptime of 99.9995%.


• Conduct technical reviews to identify and resolve potential issues arising from the migration.


• Develop and implement a systemic approach to identify and address faults associated with high-integrity, high-availability operational systems.


• Recommend best practices and approaches based on research and experience with similar migrations.

Requirements:      

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.


• Proven experience as a RedHat System Administrator or similar role.


• In-depth knowledge of RedHat Linux operating systems.


• Experience with system migrations and troubleshooting complex issues.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent communication in English and teamwork abilities.


• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
