Connected Services Compliance Tech Lead
- You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
- Degree in law, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in privacy, data protection, or related fields, with a focus on the automotive or technology sector.
- In-depth knowledge of privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant standards (e.g., ISO 27001).
- Strong technical background in software, cloud, connected services, data platforms, or vehicle systems engineering.
- Relevance experience in IT / software compliance and risk management (typically ~5 years or equivalent experience)
- Proven ability to understand complex system architectures and map end-to-end data flows across multiple domains and stakeholders
- Basic project management skills; Agile experience is a plus
- Experience supporting incident response, root cause investigations, and risk mitigation initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset
- Proactive mindset with a strong willingness to learn
- Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate complex concepts in a clear and pragmatic manner.
Additional Requirements:
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CISA, CRISC, CGRC, ISO 27001, CIPP/CIPM, CISSP)
- Experience with ISO standards (27001, 27701, 27005)
- Background in privacy or cybersecurity

At Toyota Motor Europe, the R&D4 Privacy & Compliance Team plays a pivotal role in enabling secure, compliant, and trusted connected and software-defined vehicle solutions. We partner closely with R&D connected engineering teams, IT, Legal, Compliance, Cybersecurity, and business teams to ensure that privacy, data governance, and regulatory compliance requirements are embedded into products and services from concept through deployment.
Our mission is to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical engineering processes and controls, supporting the development of innovative mobility solutions while safeguarding customer trust. The team coordinates privacy-by-design activities, regulatory compliance programs and cross-functional risk management across the vehicle and digital ecosystem.

The Senior Specialist / Technical Lead is a key member of the R&D4 Privacy & Compliance Team, serving as the bridge between regulatory requirements and technical implementation. As the team's technical expert, the successful candidate will maintain a holistic understanding of end-to-end system architectures, data flows, interfaces, and technology landscapes across vehicle and digital ecosystems. They will support compliance assessments, incident investigations, risk management activities, and design reviews by providing expert guidance on technical solutions that align with regulatory obligations and business objectives.
Working closely with engineering, IT&D, legal, compliance, cybersecurity and business stakeholders, the Senior Specialist / Technical Lead will help drive Privacy by Design, support regulatory readiness, and enable teams to deliver innovative products and services in a compliant and trustworthy manner
