About the role
We are looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Specialist with a strong background in cryptography and secure engineering to support initiatives focused on preparing technology environments for the transition to quantum-safe security.
In this role, you will provide expert guidance on cybersecurity and cryptography, helping technical teams make secure, risk-informed decisions. You will work across a range of initiatives, from assessing cryptographic risks and solution designs to supporting migration planning, remediation approaches, pilots and proof-of-concepts.
The role combines cybersecurity expertise, cryptography, security architecture and stakeholder engagement, with a strong focus on translating complex security topics into practical recommendations and engineering-ready guidance.
Key responsibilities
Cybersecurity & cryptography advisory
- Provide expert guidance on quantum-safe security and cryptographic risks.
- Advise on areas such as TLS, PKI and certificates, key management, transport security and cryptographic standards.
- Translate security objectives into practical requirements, guidelines and engineering recommendations.
- Assess technical options, trade-offs and risks and provide clear, pragmatic recommendations.
Security architecture & solution review
- Review solution designs and technical approaches from a cybersecurity perspective.
- Assess proposed solutions against security principles, standards and controls.
- Support threat modelling and security-by-design activities.
- Help define secure and scalable remediation and migration patterns.
Hands-on delivery support
- Support technical workstreams related to cryptographic discovery, prioritisation and migration readiness.
- Help teams interpret security and cryptographic inventory data and identify priorities.
- Provide guidance on dependencies and prerequisites for quantum-safe migration, including transport security and certificate lifecycle improvements.
- Support pilots and Proofs of Concept by defining security requirements, success criteria and safe deployment approaches.
Risk management & assurance
- Identify and articulate security risks, control gaps and required remediation actions.
- Provide input to risk assessments and risk acceptance decisions.
- Help ensure that security documentation is clear, traceable and suitable for governance and assurance purposes.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to improving security standards, patterns and guidance.
Stakeholder collaboration
- Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders across different areas of the organisation.
- Explain complex cybersecurity and cryptography topics in a clear and accessible way.
- Provide recommendations that enable teams to move forward while maintaining strong security outcomes.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing and the development of best practices around quantum-safe security.
