Embedded Linux Engineer
What we expect:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electronics, Automatic Control, Telecommunications or a related technical field.
- Commercial experience with Linux on custom embedded hardware, where the system is built from sources for the board it runs on.
- Practical knowledge of Yocto: layers, recipes, bbappends, machine and distro configuration, and debugging a failing build.
- Knowledge of C or C++, applied to userspace components, drivers and the kernel.
- Python, used to write integration tests for your own work.
- Experience with a CI system: builds and tests running automatically.
- Understanding of the Linux boot chain on an embedded platform: bootloader, device tree, kernel, init system.
- English sufficient to read documentation and standards, write technical documentation and take part in technical discussions with customers.
- Availability to work from our Gliwice office every Tuesday.
Nice to have:
- Experience with an SoC that combines application cores with programmable logic, and with the Yocto layers its vendor provides.
- Experience with a build orchestration tool for Yocto, such as kas.
- Kernel work: writing or porting drivers, device tree bindings, debugging kernel panics.
- Familiarity with ECSS, CCSDS or other space industry standards.
- Automated tests running on hardware.
