Lead ROS Engineer
- Strong commercial experience with ROS 1 and ROS 2.
- Previous experience in ROS 1 to ROS 2 migration projects.
- Advanced C++ development skills.
- Good Python programming skills.
- Linux development experience.
- Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics platforms, or UGV systems.
- Experience with navigation, localization, vehicle control, and system integration.
- Experience with DDS/QoS configuration and optimization.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in using AI tools in day-to-day workflow
- Experience with ros_control / ros2_control, robot_localization, Nav2, and BehaviorTree.CPP.
- Experience with GNSS-based localization and Sensor Fusion.
- Experience integrating CAN-based vehicle interfaces.
- Familiarity with steering and braking systems.
- Familiarity with Fields2Cover.
- Experience using Foxglove or similar robotics debugging and visualization tools.

Project Description:
We are looking for a Lead ROS Engineer to drive the migration of an autonomous vehicle platform from ROS 1 to ROS 2. The platform operates as an autonomous UGV and integrates navigation, localization, vehicle control, GNSS, CAN-connected hardware, sensor systems, and higher-level autonomy capabilities.
This is not a greenfield project. You will work with an existing production robotics platform, analysing ROS 1 architecture, identifying migration challenges and dependencies, and helping shape a maintainable, production-ready ROS 2 solution while preserving existing system behaviour. We are looking for a hands-on technical leader who can guide engineering decisions, support the delivery team, and collaborate closely with customer engineers throughout the migration process.
