Senior Data Governance Engineer GCP

• 3–5 years of professional experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in a Data Engineer, Data Governance Engineer, or similar role.
• 3–5 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Quality domains.
• Strong practical knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem, especially:
  • BigQuery
  • Dataplex
  • Data Catalog / Knowledge Catalog
• Experience with:
  • Metadata management
  • Data modeling
  • Data catalog development
  • Data lineage implementation
  • Data quality frameworks
  • Data ownership and stewardship processes
• Advanced SQL skills proven by professional experience, including:
  • Query optimization
  • Complex aggregations
  • Performance tuning
  • Data transformation logic
• Understanding of data governance concepts and best practices.
• Experience creating technical documentation and participating in code reviews.
• Ability to work effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and data owners.

• Experience with Apache Spark.
• Programming skills in Python.
• Experience with Kubernetes environments.
• Knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Experience with Looker.
• Familiarity with Vertex AI.
• Experience designing enterprise data architectures.
• Knowledge of batch and streaming data processing patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring/SLO practices.
• Interest in AI/LLM technologies and modern data platforms.
• Previous experience with cloud migration projects, especially migration of analytical environments to GCP.
