  • 3–5 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Quality domains.
  • Strong practical knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem, especially:
    • BigQuery
    • Dataplex
    • Data Catalog / Knowledge Catalog
  • Experience with:
    • Metadata management
    • Data modeling

Project Overview

We are looking for a Senior Data Governance Engineer (GCP) to join a strategic data transformation program for a large organization operating in the digital services sector.

The project focuses on migrating analytical environments from an on-premise architecture to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and building a modern data platform supporting business processes, advanced analytics, improved user experience, and future adoption of AI/LLM solutions.

The role combines strong Google Cloud Platform expertise with a solid understanding of Data Governance principles. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working within the GCP ecosystem and have practical experience in metadata management, data quality, lineage, ownership, and access governance.

The position involves designing and implementing Data Governance processes in a cloud-based data environment, developing data catalog capabilities, managing metadata, defining governance standards, and ensuring secure and efficient data usage across the organization.
The role requires close collaboration with Data Engineering teams, BI teams, and business data owners to establish scalable governance frameworks and improve data reliability and accessibility.

The technology stack includes Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Dataplex (Knowledge Catalog), Data Catalog/Collibra, SQL, and solutions supporting both batch and streaming data processing.
