Senior Ruby on Rails Developer

Belvedere Recruitment Wrocław 2026-10-26
  • 5+ years of commercial experience working with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
  • Strong expertise in relational databases such as PostgreSQL, with practical experience using non-relational databases, caching systems and message brokers
  • Proven experience with client communication methods including REST API and WebSockets, plus authentication approaches such as JWT, cookie-based authentication and OAuth
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment tools, Docker and Git
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and SOLID principles applied in practice
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated tests using RSpec or similar frameworks
  • Ability to contribute to architectural decisions based on business, functional and non-functional requirements, with consideration for scalability
  • Daily use of AI tools and the ability to critically assess AI-generated code
  • Enthusiasm for code review, both providing and receiving constructive feedback
  • Fluent English with confidence communicating directly with clients during calls, demos and technical discussions
  • Fluent Polish for internal team communication
  • Genuine interest in HealthTech and working on projects where quality, security and compliance are essential

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience with a JavaScript framework such as Vue or React
  • Familiarity with AWS or a comparable cloud platform
  • Knowledge of web servers like Nginx
  • HealthTech or pharmacy sector experience, including HIPAA, e-prescribing, insurance or FHIR
  • Background working embedded with clients, in consulting, as a Fractional Developer, or in a startup environment where you managed multiple responsibilities

This role may not suit you if:

  • You consider a task complete once the code runs, rather than when it's tested, reviewed and maintainable long-term
  • You prefer a consistent stack and workflow that remains unchanged for years, as this team regularly adopts new tools and approaches
  • You'd rather delegate responsibility for what gets merged - here, AI may draft code, but you're accountable for what's approved

Contract Type: B2B

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work on projects where your technical decisions directly impact healthcare outcomes
  • Exposure to both client work and in-house product development, including open-source contributions
  • Regular access to emerging AI tools and workflows, with the freedom to test and propose improvements
