Senior Software Engineer Java & Angular
You have experience building and running production systems and are comfortable working independently on complex technical problems.
You have:
- Good hands-on experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot backend development
- Strong experience with TypeScript and modern Angular
- Experience with distributed systems, microservices or cloud-based applications
- Experience building modern frontend applications, ideally within an Nx monorepo
- Good problem-solving skills, including investigating issues beyond your own code
- Experience contributing to technical design and making decisions about how things should be built
- Experience working in agile development teams
- Clear, practical communication skills
You don't need to know every technology we use. Our wider stack includes Kafka and other messaging systems, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, Elasticsearch, StarRocks, Python, Spark and Grafana.
Experience with some of these is useful, but we're more interested in what you've built, improved or troubleshot than how many technologies you can list.
Senior Software Engineer – Java & Angular
Financial Crime Product | Warsaw | Hybrid
Every day, banks process enormous volumes of transactions. Our Financial Crime platform analyses that data in real time to help financial institutions identify fraud and suspicious activity.
We're growing our engineering team in Warsaw and looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is comfortable working across Java and Angular and who wants more than a queue of development tickets.
What you'll be working on
You'll join a small, experienced engineering team building Vyntra's Financial Crime product.
The work spans Java/Spring backend services and modern Angular applications, within a larger distributed platform processing significant volumes of financial data.
You'll be involved in the whole problem: understanding what we need to solve, working out the right technical approach, building it, getting it into production and improving it afterwards.
That might mean:
- designing and building features across Java and Angular
- investigating a difficult production issue rather than applying a quick fix
- improving the performance or scalability of an existing service
- working with distributed services, messaging and large datasets
- contributing to technical and architectural decisions
- building reusable Angular components within an Nx monorepo
- challenging an existing approach when you can see a better one
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with good Java fundamentals and genuine hands-on Angular experience.
You'll ideally bring experience with Java/Spring Boot, modern Angular and TypeScript, alongside some exposure to distributed or cloud-based production systems.
Our wider technology landscape includes Kafka and other messaging technologies, SQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, StarRocks, Python, Spark and Grafana.
You don't need to have worked with everything on that list.
What matters more is that you've used your experience to solve interesting problems. We'd like to hear about systems you've improved, things you've designed, production problems you've investigated and technical decisions you've made – and why you made them.
The team
Our Warsaw engineering team is small and close-knit, currently around 10 people and growing.
We're the technical hub for Vyntra's Financial Crime product, with developers and architects working closely together rather than in large, heavily layered teams. You'll have room to work independently, contribute ideas and influence how things are built.
We work from our Warsaw WeWork office a minimum of 2 days per week.
