Software Engineering & DevOps Centre of Excellence Lead
Skills:
- Master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field
- Practical experience in
software development technologies (particularly related to Microsoft .NET and
Microsoft Azure ecosystem, but not exclusively) - Knowledge of scripting
languages (i.a. PowerShell, Python, Bash) - Proficiency in CI/CD
tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab - Familiarity
with security scanning tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) - Practical knowledge of
object-oriented, architectural, and
integration design patterns - Experience with microservices
architecture and deployment patterns - Practice in leveraging
database management systems, both relational and non-SQL - Practical experience in
leveraging AI in daily tasks related to software development - Good understanding of
technical and business dimensions of delivered IT solution - Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with
stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and communicate complex
technical concepts to non-technical audiences - Strong analytical and
problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying root causes of issues
and implementing effective solutions - Ability to prioritize
and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely delivery
of testing activities and meeting project delivery deadlines - Strategic thinking and decision-making skills,
with the ability to align efforts with team/project objectives and organisational
goals
Experience
- as a Software Engineer
responsible for design, implementation, and maintenance of different
applications, custom-built and packaged solutions leveraging different
technologies - as a DevOps Engineer or
similar role, focusing on designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines,
automation, and infrastructure management - as a discipline/practice
lead governing the standards, mentoring for junior and senior Software and DevOps
engineers - in cloud platforms
(Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) - Experience with
monitoring tools (Datadog, NewRelic, ELK) - Experience working in
Agile or iterative development environments, with a solid understanding of
Agile principles and practices - Previous experience in managing cloud, software
development and operational reliability efforts for large-scale software
projects or enterprise systems, including web applications, integrated software
solutions, master data hubs, mobile applications would be a plus
Courses
- Relevant coursework or specialized
training in software engineering, cloud, project management, or leadership
would be advantageous. - Relevant certifications
such as Microsoft Azure DevOps
Engineer Expert or Azure Administrator would be advantageou - Membership in
professional organisations is desirable for networking and staying updated on
industry trends and best practices.
The Software Engineering and DevOps Centre of
Excellence Lead (CoE Lead) holds a key leadership position responsible for bridging
the gap between application development and operational reliability. An individual
in this role leads efforts spanning software development standards,
infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and software supply chain (SSC) automation. As a
member of the CTO Area, is responsible for governing the standards and
operational implementation of those for supported delivery teams. As CoE Lead,
leveraging expertise in SDLC and infrastructure drives continuous improvement
in both areas.
As the Centre of Excellence Lead for Software
Engineering and DevOps disciplines, you will be part of the CoE within the CTO
Area.

- Providing methods and
streamlining the SDLC, assessing external tools or participating in the elaboration
of in-house shared tools, promoting standards for the SDLC - Offering hands-on
engagement in the software development process as well as peer reviews at any

learning and best practice - Actively participating in the activities of the
delivery (product) teams
