We are a product company – we build and continuously develop our own Master Data Management platform. This gives us a stable working environment and provides our people with a genuine opportunity to influence the shape and direction of the solutions we build. Instead of working on short-term projects for different clients, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a product over the long term and see the impact of your work.
We are looking for an experienced Team Lead (Java) who combines strong people leadership skills with deep technical expertise. As a Team Lead, you will support and develop your team members while taking responsibility for the technical quality of the systems your team builds and operates.
This is a broad and comprehensive role, made possible by the way our teams are structured: our Team Leads work with small, 3–5-person teams and have a very limited number of meetings. Apart from the daily, you mainly participate in meetings directly related to your team’s work and needs – typically around 2–3 hours per week in total. This lets you spend most of your time working with your team, making technical decisions, and supporting people’s development.
We expect you to have a very good understanding of your team’s technology stack, the ability to organize and coordinate the team’s work, and confidence in making technical decisions. Your impact will extend beyond your own team, including collaborating with other teams to ensure everyone stays focused on delivering value.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in backend development using modern Java technologies, several years of professional experience, and experience mentoring, leading or coordinating engineers. We are looking for a team-oriented person who values collaboration, knowledge sharing, and collective problem-solving. A genuine interest in data and databases will be a strong advantage.
Product Area You Will Be Responsible For:
- Data Quality Guard – continuous validation and monitoring of business partner data (identifiers, addresses, and bank accounts), 1,500+ community rules as well as customer - specific custom rules, a unified data validation API, and dashboards, reports, and tools providing data quality insights. The product is powered by a rules engine built on a knowledge graph (RDF/SPARQL) and curated global reference data.
- Duplicate Guard – detection, analysis, and consolidation of duplicate business partner records within and across datasets. It includes a matching engine with data-cleansing mechanisms and phonetic, geospatial, and exact comparators, continuous duplicate monitoring, and consolidation rules that lead to the creation of so-called golden records.
- Tax Guard – verification and validation of direct and indirect tax identifiers (including EU VAT), as well as verification of names and addresses against official registers, both in transactional and monitoring modes through a headless API
