Platform Engineer API Gateway, WARSZAWA WARSAW

  • Broad technical background across application development, cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and platform engineering
  • Previous experience building or contributing to an Internal Developer Platform, developer portal, platform engineering capability, or shared cloud platform
  • Hands-on experience with API gateway and API management technologies such as Kong, Apache APISIX, Envoy, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management, or similar
  • Good understanding of API security, authentication and authorization, traffic management, rate limiting, resilience, service discovery, and observability
  • Strong software engineering skills in Java or Kotlin, including experience with modern application frameworks and API design
  • Practical experience with cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, and automated operations
  • Able to work exploratively with incomplete requirements, identify relevant questions, and independently translate business or technical objectives into implementable solutions
  • Experience evaluating technical options, creating prototypes, documenting trade-offs, and presenting clear, professional recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Used to taking end-to-end ownership in agile, cross-functional teams and comfortable working without fully specified tickets
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; able to explain technical decisions, facilitate discussions, and create concise decision documents
  • Very good English; German is a plus
